Netflix is not shy about raising its prices, and the streaming service is back at it again. The company confirmed today some of its select plans are seeing price hikes.

For subscribers in the United States, Netflix is introducing some important price changes to its various tiered plans. Its standard plan, which retails for $9 per month, isn’t changing. However, the two additional plans, which offer more features, will see noteworthy price hikes. For new customers, the new prices will go into effect immediately. For existing customers, the price plan change will take place over the next few weeks. The changes will roll out with customers’ billing cycles.

So, here’s what the new plans feature and what they’ll cost, as of today, October 29, 2020:

  • Basic Plan: Standard Definition; 1 screen at a time; download videos on 1 phone or tablet for $8.99 per month
  • Standard HD: Full 1080p HD available; watch on 2 screens at a time; download videos on 2 phones or tablets for $14.99 per month
  • Premium Ultra HD: Full 1080p HD and 4K available; watch on 4 screens at a time; download videos on 4 phones or tablets for $17.99 per month

These price changes are $1 more per month for the Standard HD plan, and $2 more per month for the Premium Ultra HD plan.

Price hikes aren’t new for Netflix. In January of 2019, for instance, Netflix raised prices across the board. And this will more than likely not be the last time the streaming service does it, either.

Are you keeping Netflix with this latest price hike? Or will you be abandoning the service?
