Unreleased 2020 16-inch MacBook Pro referenced in latest Boot Camp update

16-inch MacBook Pro

We already know that Apple is going to launch a new Mac of some kind before the end of 2020. And it may be a 16-inch MacBook Pro.

As noted today by MacRumors, the latest update for Boot Camp –the utility used to run Windows on a Mac — references a brand new Mac laptop. Apple actually released the update last week, and it went under the radar since then. The 16-inch MacBook Pro was last refreshed in 2019, so it’s possible that Apple could launch a new model before the end of this year.

Here’s the update to Boot Camp, directly referencing a 2020 16-inch MacBook Pro (that doesn’t exist right now):

It’s an interesting note because Apple is clearly making a distinction there for the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The 13-inch MacBook Pro was updated in 2020, so that date makes sense.

Rumor has it that Apple is going to host another event some time in November, where the company will unveil its first Apple Silicon Mac. That could very well be a Mac notebook, too, and a 16-inch MacBook Pro would certainly fit the bill.

Are you hoping Apple’s first Silicon Mac is the 16-inch MacBook Pro? Maybe we don’t have long to wait to find out.
