Apple releases watchOS 7.0.3 to patch unexpected restart issue in Apple Watch Series 3

Apple today is releasing another minor software update for the watchOS platform, looking to fix a lingering issue for owners of the Apple Watch Series 3.

Today, Apple released watchOS 7.0.3 to the public. However, the new update is only meant for owners of the Apple Watch Series 3, so if you own a different version of Apple’s smartwatch you shouldn’t see the update available for you.

If you do own an Apple Watch Series 3, you can update your smartwatch by opening the Watch iOS app, choosing General –> Software Update and following the onscreen instructions. To update your watch, you’ll need to make sure the device has at least 50% battery life, is connected to the wireless charger, and it’s also paired and within range of your iPhone.

The Apple Watch Series 3 has been unexpectedly restarting for some owners for a bit of time now. watchOS 7.0.3 is meant to respond to that lingering issue directly. So, as mentioned above, this update is not available for other versions of the Apple Watch.

Last week, Apple released watchOS 7.0.2 to the public, which was meant to address issues like a persistent battery drain and more.

The latest update for the Apple Watch Series 3 is available now. It’s free to download and install.
