In this week’s Apps of the Week roundup we have a fascinating app for artwork, a fun widget-maker, and a very minimal RSS feed reader. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
AMO: Daily Art Inspiration
The developers describe AMO as an app created by artists, for artists, but I would argue the audience is much bigger than that. It contains over 40,000 artworks and there’s this great Artist of the Day feature that shows you a famous piece along with interesting facts about the artist. There’s even a Home screen widget and downloadable HD wallpapers.
Speaking of art, for those that like to create their own, here is a handy widget-making app called Scribblet. It enables you to turn your drawings and handwritten notes into iOS 14 widgets. So with it you can…create a todo list, write yourself a message, or just bless your Home screen with a special doodle.
Stream – A Feed Reader
Meet Stream, a no-frills, timeline-based feed reader that is about as minimal as it gets. There are no unread/read counts, no grouping of feeds, and it doesn’t support any third-party services. It does have a gorgeous icon, though, and it supports RSS, Atom JSON Feed and OPML.
IncrediMarble is an idle incremental construction game in which you build gigantic marble slide worlds. Yeah that’s right, slide worlds. You have around 30 pieces to choose from and your imagination is the only limit. So what kind of marble worlds do you think you can build? Only one way to find out.
I don’t normally like choosing pricier games for these roundups, but I just couldn’t pass this one up. It’s called 112 Operator, and it puts you in charge of the emergency services for virtually every major city in the world. You take calls and dispatch rescue services, and handle difficult situations like natural disasters.
