The Catalyst case is unique in that, while it has a familiar rugged design, it also comes with a strap. As usual, the case fits the Series 4, Series 5, Series 6, and the Apple Watch SE. It offers raised bezels to protect the display, and offers full coverage for the sides of the smartwatch. The front and back of the watch are fully exposed, though, so be aware of that.
However, this specific design of the Catalyst does offer the ability to add a screen protector if you want. And, with the back exposed, it grants access to the ECG and blood oxygen monitoring features.
The Catalyst case does offer some impact resistance, thanks to the dual layer design and truss cushioning system. According to the company, this can protect the Apple Watch from a fall fo up to 9.9 feet. The protective case offers precise cutouts for the speaker, as well as the mic, and the Digital Crown is exposed as well.

Another rugged option for your Apple Watch Series 6 and/or Apple Watch SE is from Spigen. The Rugged Armor case features a flexible, shock-absorbent design that’s meant to keep scratches off your smartwatch with daily use. You’ll get the familiar raised bezels around the display, but there isn’t a screen protector pre-installed.
You’ll still get the precise cutouts for all the need-to-have elements of the Apple Watch, with a raised area to easily press the side button. The Digital Crown is fully exposed as well. Plus, you’ll get full access to the sensors on the back of the smartwatch.

Perhaps the most rugged of the rugged cases, Under Armor Gear’s case for the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE is designed specifically for the 44mm case size. It has a precision fit, so it will snap on easily and stay in place even with daily use. Even with the added bulk, UAG says it has a feather-light construction, so it shouldn’t be heavy.
The case has raised edges around the display, and you can install or uninstall the snap-on case without having to remove the Apple Watch’s straps. The Digital Crown is easily accessible, as are the sensors on the back for built-in features and wireless charging. There’s no built-in screen protector, though.
