Marketing materials for the new ‌iPad‌ Air hit retail stores ahead of launch

The new iPad Air is listed on Apple’s website and in the press release as coming later this month, but Apple has yet to give us an exact launch date. According to a well-connected Bloomberg reporter, the launch could be imminent because marketing materials for the unreleased product are beginning to trickle down to retail stores.

“Apple marketing materials for the new ‌iPad‌ Air are starting to land at retail stores, suggesting a launch sooner rather than later,” Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman tweeted yesterday. “Apple said October, which is tomorrow—so not a surprise,” he added.

The new iPad Air packs in some of the technologies that used to be reserved for the iPad Pro, like fullscreen design with slider bezels (it lacks Face ID because there’s Touch ID built into the Power button), four stereo speakers, True Tone, P3 wide color support and more.

It’s got a fully laminated 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and debuted Apple’s latest chip, the five-nanometer A14, which has yet to appear in the iPhone. The tablet is available to pre-order through Apple’s website, the Apple Store app and authorized resellers in 30 countries around the world. The Wi-Fi-only model starts at $599 and its Wi-Fi + Cellular counterpart is $729. The device is available in Silver, Space Gray, Sky Blue, Rose Gold and Green.
