On Tuesday, Apple seeded the second betas of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2, and watchOS 7.1. The latest pre-release software is available to download from Apple’s Developer Center directly. It is also available to download as an over-the-air (OTA) update on properly registered devices.

As far as what’s new in this latest beta, that remains to be seen. However, now that it’s out in the wild, if there are any major new discoveries made we will update this post accordingly.

As for the first beta, which Apple seeded not too long ago, it did welcome a brand new feature. With iOS 14.2, Apple is welcoming Shazam as a built-in feature with the mobile operating system. There is a new Control Center option for Shazam that makes launching music recognition much easier. The feature can now even recognize music while you’re listening to it on your AirPods.

In addition to the change for Shazam, the Now Playing widget in Control Center has been redesigned and improved. In iOS 14.2, this widget will now show recently played music when you’re not currently listening to anything. AirPlay’s interface is tweaked in the new software as well.

The second developer betas of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2, and watchOS 7.1 are available now. A public launch should arrive in a few weeks.
