ExplosiveIcons makes it fun to delete apps from a jailbroken iPhone

If you’re rocking a jailbroken iPhone or iPad and are looking for fun and exciting ways to spice up the user experience, then you should definitely consider taking a minute out of your day to check out a newly released jailbreak tweak called ExplosiveIcons by iOS developer Wes.

Just as the name implies, ExplosiveIcons makes it fun to delete apps from your iPhone or iPad by providing users with an exciting animation upon doing so. Below, you’ll find an animated GIF depicting the newfangled animation in all its glory:

As you just saw, the icon quite literally appears to explode after tapping on the Delete button in the confirmation alert. The small debris then gravitate toward the bottom of the Home Screen before disappearing from view.

Once installed, ExplosiveIcons adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure a number of options to their liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle ExplosiveIcons on or off on demand
  • Enable or disable gravity for the debris effects
  • Enable or disable random colors for the debris
  • Configure a debris dot size
  • Configure the number of debris dots for the explosion
  • Configure the amount of debris dots bounciness
  • Configure the amount of debris dots fade out time
  • Configure the amount of debris dots explosive force
  • Configure the color count of the debris dots
  • Reset all settings to their defaults
  • Respring your device

According to the developer, respringing your device isn’t necessary to save your changes, so the respring button exists mostly for convenience than anything else.

Those interested in trying the ExplosiveIcons tweak can download it for free from the wrp1002 repository via their favorite package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices and is open source on the developer’s GitHub page for those interested in learning more about how it works

If you aren’t already using wrp1002’s repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice using the following URL:
