As talk of expansion ramps up for Apple Card, Apple and Barclays stop issuing the Apple Rewards Visa

Before the Apple Card, there was the Barclays Apple Rewards Visa. But now that Apple has moved on, Barclays is ready to do the same.

Beginning today, Barclays’s partnership with Apple has come to an end, according to Bloomberg. The now defunct Rewards Visa card issued by Barclays offered special financing for a range of Apple products. However, now that financing for Apple-branded products has shifted to the Apple Card, this deal no longer applies.

If you are an Apple Rewards Visa cardholder, you can still use it as a regular credit card. It will simply not come tethered with any Apple-specific rewards any longer.

The Apple Card is a solid credit card in its own right, with plenty of perks including up to 3% cash back at certain retailers, including Apple. Plus, Apple offers interest-free financing for iPhones (and SIM-free options as well), the Mac, AirPods, and other products with the credit card.

Right now, the Apple Card is only available in the United States. However, that may be changing in the near future. A recent report said that international expansion to markets like Australia may already be in the works. It may happen before the end of 2021.

Do you still plan on getting an Apple Card at some point?
