Bose QuietComfort Earbuds with acoustic noise cancelling now official for $279.95

A couple of days ago, a leaked promo video indicated Bose was about to take on the AirPods Pro. Now, that move is official.

Please welcome the QuietComfort Earbuds, a pair of truly wireless headphones packed to the brim with features. Which one would expect, considering they cost almost $300. For that price tag you get things like Bose’s acclaimed active noise cancelling feature. A true wireless experience thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. And a sweat and weather resistant design, so you can enjoy your music in a variety of conditions.

As is par for the course with a Bose-branded audio product, the quality of sound is important. And, as such, Bose says you’ll get the same experience even with these QuietComfort Earbuds. There are various levels of noise cancellation, both active and passive. And the headphones offer up the ability to quickly change your level of noise cancellation on the fly, depending on your situation.

Bose also praises the “lifelike sound” from the QuietComfort Earbuds:

The acoustic package inside these earbuds is capable of producing deep low notes and exciting, lifelike sound no matter how loud (or soft) you like to listen.

And that’s no small feat. Because as you lower the volume on most earphones, the bass tends to disappear, leaving your music sounding tinny and small. We solved the problem with our Volume-optimized Active EQ technology. This innovation automatically boosts the lows and highs so the music, videos, and voices you’re listening to remain consistently balanced — even as you change the volume.

The QuietComfort Earbuds feature touch controls on both earbuds. If you long-press on the left earbud, for instance, you can call up a shortcut that you set in the Bose Music app. Double-tapping the left earbud will cycle through the noise cancellation options. Double-tap the right earbud and you’ll play or pause your media, or answer or end a call. Long pressing will activate the digital assistant on your smartphone, or will decline an incoming call.

The battery life is up to six hours on a single charge, and it takes about two hours to fully charge the QuietComfort Earbuds if you drain them. But you can get around two hours of listening time with just 15 minutes of charging, which should be enough for a quick top-up. The battery case can be charged via USB-C cable, or by a Qi-certified wireless charger.

As mentioned above, the QuietComfort Earbuds retail for $279.95. They are available to pre-order from the company’s website right now in Triple Black and Soapstone color options.
