iPhone 12 with 5G support hyped by a wireless carrier in leaked email

In the near future, Apple is going to announce new iPhones. It will more than likely be the iPhone 12 lineup. And those handsets will probably support 5G.

Before that happens, though, wireless carriers are already preparing marketing materials for the expected launch next month. At least, that appears to be the case for one unnamed wireless carrier thanks to serial leaker Evan Blass. He posted an image on Twitter recently, showing an unfinished email hyping up the iPhone 12 and its support for 5G.

A lot of the email is redacted, so we don’t know which carrier this is from. Any images of the iPhone 12 are missing, too — not that we should expect there to be real ones in there anyway. And while the email notes pre-orders will end on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, that date is probably fake, too. Apple is hosting its “Time Flies” event on September 15, but expectations are high that the iPhone 12 won’t be part of the fun.

Instead, Apple has already confirmed the new iPhones will see a bit of a delay compared to years past. And a previous report suggested the new smartphones will launch in October. Which means we will probably get an announcement event next month, too.

As far as what’s coming down the pipe? Rumor has it that we’ll see four new iPhones: a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. Each of these handsets will reportedly feature OLED screens, too. And, as noted in the leaked email, they’ll all support 5G as well. There is still some speculation as to which type of 5G technology all four models will support (and in which regions), but that will get answered soon enough.

The new iPhones will also feature a new design, one inspired by the iPhone 5 and current iPad Pro, with flat edges. The Pro models are said to boast three cameras on the back, along with a LiDAR Scanner for good measure. The non-Pro models will feature two rear cameras. And Apple may introduce a dark blue color for the Pro models, too, replacing the Midnight Green option.

Are you looking forward to 5G support in the new iPhones? Which model are you planning on upgrading to in the near future?
