Rogers is offering six months of free Apple Music on select plans in Canada

If you’re in Canada and a Rogers customer, the wireless carrier has a nice deal for Apple Music customers.

Earlier this week, Rogers officially announced that it is going to offer a way for Apple Music customers to save some cash. At least for six months. The Canadian wireless network confirmed it will be offering six months of the music streaming service at no extra charge. What’s more, the deal is available for both new and existing Apple Music subscribers. So you don’t have to be a new customer to get the promotion.

Rogers says the new promo is available beginning now. However, there is a catch (as there usually is). While Rogers has a variety of plans to choose from, the six month promotion for Apple Music is only available with Infinite plans. Those plans include options like the 20GB plan that costs $80 per month, or the 50GB plan for $125 per month, as noted by MacRumors.

To redeem the offer, Rogers customers need to open the MyRogers app and follow the instructions there. Once accessed, customers will get Apple Music at no additional cost. This means the app can be used across platforms and devices, including Android and on PC. After the six-month promotion has expired, customers will see a $9.99 per month charge for the service directly on their bill. Or, they can cancel if they don’t want to keep listening.

Unfortunately, family plans and student plans are not covered by this particular promotion.

Rogers is following Verizon’s approach here, as far as a limited time promotion is concerned. The big red carrier in the United States launched its six months of Apple Music promo back in 2018. But then, in 2019, it launched a new offering that gives Apple Music as a standard free perk on some of its wireless plans. Maybe we’ll see Rogers do the same in the future.

If you’re a Rogers customer, do you plan on taking advantage of this promo?
