‘Five Days at Memorial’ limited series heading to Apple TV+

Apple TV+ officially announced yet another limited series coming to the streaming service in the near future. This one’s based on an award-winning nonfiction book.

It’s called Five Days at Memorial, and it’s based on the National Books Critics Award winner nonfiction title of the same name. This limited series is from John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and Emmy Award winner Carlton Cuse (Locke & Key). The pair will be serving as show runners and executive producers, while Ridley will also be handling directing duties.

Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, “Five Days At Memorial” chronicles the first five days in a New Orleans hospital after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. When the floodwaters rose, the power failed and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers were forced to make life-and-death decisions that haunted them for years to come. Sheri Fink will executive produce alongside Ridley and Cuse.

There isn’t a trailer to go along with the news, and there isn’t even a first look just yet. That’s to be expected, considering it was just announced. We don’t have a release date for the limited series, either. But all of that should come in short order, now that it’s officially official.

Did you check out the novel the series is based on? If so, looking forward to seeing it recreated on the screen?
