Parks-themed Activity challenge for Apple Watch owners scheduled for August 30

Apple will be inviting Apple Watch owners to celebrate the natural wonder of national parks with a new challenge in the Activity app scheduled for this coming Sunday, August 30.

As discovered by Kyle Seth Gray last Friday, Apple Watch owners can earn a special medal in the Activity app along with iMessage stickers by completing a hike, walk, run or wheelchair workout of at least one mile, or approximately 1.6 kilometer, on this coming Sunday, August 30.

Like with previous Activity challenges, you can complete a required workout in the stock Workout app on your Apple Watch or any other fitness app that writes data to Health.

To help support and protect America’s national parks, the iPhone maker will be donating $10 to the National Park Foundation per purchase using Apple Pay via Apple.com, the Apple Store app or any US Apple Store from August 24 through 30 (limited to the first 100,000 transactions).
