The second season of For All Mankind was almost finished shooting the second season earlier this year, but the coronavirus pandemic forced production to shut down early.
Sony Pictures TV, the production company behind For All Mankind, has been trying to safely return to work for quite some time, one of the companies at the fore with implementing new rules on sets to make sure those on hand stay safe even as shows resume filming. That is certainly the case for the alternate history drama created by Ron Moore for Apple TV+, which was almost done filming the second season when production shut down earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Deadline, production on season 2 of the series has now resumed.
For All Mankind was one of the four original shows that helped launch Apple’s original video streaming service late last year. It stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Jodi Balfour, and Wrenn Schmidt, among others. It tells the story of a United States that has lost the race to be first on the moon to the Soviet Union.
The first season started off pretty rough, just like the other launch series for Apple TV+, but by the time the first season wrapped up the show was doing quite well. The second season should be able to continue that momentum whenever it debuts on Apple TV+ in the near future.
