In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a meal delivery app aggregator, an informative audio app for road trips, and an app for tracking bets between friends. And as always, we’ve selected two new games for you to check out.
MealMe
What a great idea: MealMe grabs data from all meal delivery apps for every restaurant around you, and tells you what the cheapest options are. The app features a larger selection of restaurants than any single food delivery app, and the developers say it saves users $5 per order on average.
HearHere
I like this concept a lot. HearHere is an audio entertainment app that shares stories about the people, places and histories of the area you are traveling through. I don’t like that it requires a subscription and that it’s currently only available on the west coast, but you do get a 5-story free trial and the developers promise coast-to-coast coverage by 2021.
Settlyt
Have you ever made a bet with a friend? It happens often in my circle, and eventually it gets hard to keep track of all of them. That’s where Settlyt comes in. The app allows you to invite friends to a bet, upload proof and select a winner. It keeps track of both monetary and non-monetary bets, and a social aspect lets you share and follow others’ action.
Circulous
Circulous is an episodic mystery narrative puzzle game. In this first-person game you take on the persona of Amanda Trouser, who has just been let go from her job. On the subway ride home, you see an add for a job at Circulous, a mysterious corporation cloaked in conspiracy theories.
Animals Pop-em
For something a little more mindless, check out Animals Pop-em. I typically stay away from these types of games, because they’re not really my type and there are *so* many of them out there, but I decided to go outside the box here. It’s an arcade-puzzler and initial reviews of it are glowing.
