Espionage thriller ‘Tehran’ will premiere September 25 on Apple TV+

We’ve known about the incoming espionage thriller Tehran since June of this year, and now we know when the new series will premiere across the globe on Apple TV+.

On Tuesday, Apple officially announced that it will premiere the Israel-Iran espionage thriller Tehran on Friday, September 25. There will be a total of eight episodes for the series, with the first three episodes landing on Friday right out of the gate. After that, new episodes will premiere every Friday. The show was written by Moshe Zonder (Fauda) and stars Niv Sultan.

Here’s how it’s described:

“Tehran” tells the thrilling story of a Mossad agent who goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission in Tehran that places her and everyone around her in dire jeopardy. The series stars young Israeli actress Niv Sultan (“Flawless,” “She Has It,” “Temporarily Dead”), critically acclaimed actor Shaun Toub (“Homeland,” “Crash”), international star Navid Negahban (“Homeland,” “Legion,” “Aladdin”), Shervin Alenabi (“Baghdad in My Shadow”), Liraz Charhi (“A Late Quartet”) and Menashe Noy (“Big Bad Wolves,” “Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem”).

Apple is serving as a co-producer alongside Israeli network Kan 11 and Cineflix Rights on this one. The series is directed by Daniel Syrkin, and Omri Shenhar is also serving as a writer on the series.
