Altilium alerts you of low battery a third time at a percentage you choose

If you put your iPhone through a hard days’ worth of work without any charging, then chances are you’ll eventually see the 20% and perhaps even the 10% battery remaining alerts as the handset’s battery percentage falls. Still, 20% battery is enough to get you through a solid hour of use, and many people have a tendency to dismiss these alerts until their battery level gets so low that the device finally dies.

Because of the aforementioned circumstances, iOS developer quiprr figured that it might be beneficial for iPhone users to have a third low battery level alert at a user-designated percentage. With that thought in mind, a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Altilium was conveniently conceived.

The way this tweak works is actually rather simple… when your battery reaches the defined battery percentage, users will receive a third low power alert. It works in tandem with the existing 20% and 10% battery level alerts, meaning that you can set up a higher (30%+) alert or a lower (1-9%) alert.

If you’re anything like me and you tend to get these low battery alerts late at night and then get sucked into the proverbial black hole on YouTube, then this additional low battery alert will be exceptionally helpful as it ensures that you know when you absolutely must charge your device — otherwise the battery will just die without any further warning.

Once installed, Altilium adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure a few options:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Altilium on or off on demand
  • Choose the battery percentage that you want a third alert on
  • Save the changes you make

Personally, I’d recommend leaving the tweak at the default 5% battery alert because it’s intended to be a third warning if you dismiss the existing 20% and 10% low power alerts. You can, however, choose another percentage if you’re comfortable doing so.

Those interested in trying Altilium can download the tweak for free from the Ametrine repository via their favorite package manager. They weak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices.

If you’re not already using the Ametrine repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice by using the following URL:
