Back in February of this year, Adult Swim Games officially unveiled a new adventure title based on the popular animated show Samurai Jack. And now we know when we can play it via Apple Arcade.

Today, Adult Swim Games confirmed that the upcoming game Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will launch on Friday, August 21, 2020. The game will be available via Apple’s video game subscription service, Apple Arcade, but will also be available via a variety of other platforms on launch day, including Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Nintendo Switch, and on Microsoft‘s Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a platformer, and players will take the role of the eponymous Jack as he travels from one location to another, from one moment in time to another, battling new enemies along the way. The game will also feature a slate of returning characters including The Scotsman, Sir Rothchild, and others. And Jack will be voiced by Phil LaMarr who voices the character in the animated show. The villain Aku (voice by Greg Baldwin) is returning for this game as well.

Here’s the description of the game:

An untold Samurai Jack adventure that ties into the epic series finale. Team up with trusted allies from the show to face off against familiar enemies. Visit classic worlds and moments from your favorite episodes. Travel to a dark future to free mankind. Dive into the past to face off against terrifying monsters. Seek your fate as you travel across space and time. Equip and master over a dozen different weapons in combat. Increase your power even more by training and unlocking new skills to support your playstyle.

And here’s the trailer for the upcoming game:

It is worth noting that on the official landing page for the upcoming platformer, Apple Arcade is not specifically listed as one of the platforms the game is arriving on. However, we know that Samurai Jack:  Battle Through Time is indeed coming to Apple Arcade. So, it’s possible that the title may launch on these other platforms first, with a launch on Apple Arcade sometime after August 21.

Either way, we will let you know when the new Samurai Jack adventure lands on Apple’s platforms. To access the rotating library of games available in Apple Arcade, you’ll need to fork over $4.99 per month.

Are you looking forward to this one?
