Wasabi brings a supercharged clipboard manager to jailbroken iPhones

In a world where multitasking becomes more and more important to the average iPhone and iPad user, the clipboard experience on both the iOS and iPadOS platforms leaves a lot to be desired out of the box. Unfortunately, this doesn’t look like an area that Apple aims to improve any time soon.

The bright side of this particular scenario is that a newly released jailbreak tweak dubbed Wasabi by iOS developer Nepeta provides jailbreakers with the clipboard experience that all iPhone and iPad users deserve.

As shown in the screenshot examples above, Wasabi is a well-designed clipboard manager for iOS and iPadOS that integrates directly into the native system keyboard. By tapping on the globe button, users will see and be able to interact with an interface comprising of their most recently copied or cut items.

As you might come to expect, merely tapping on any of the clipboard items pastes it wherever your cursor might be. That said, if we placed the cursor below the “Hello World!” text string in the Note and then tapped on the iDownloadBlog website link in our clipboard, it would automatically insert that link right below the aforementioned text string.

Wasabi is a time-saving tweak for power users, not just because it makes the native experience look poor, but also because it provides access to more than one clipboard item at a time. This means users won’t need to switch between apps as much to copy/cut and paste several items in a row since all copied/cut items appear as a series in the Wasabi interface.

Once installed, Wasabi adds a preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure a few options:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Wasabi on or off on demand
  • Show application names designating where the item was copied/cut from
  • Show application icons designating where the item was copied/cut from
  • Enable haptic feedback for Wasabi interactions
  • Use the Dictation button to summon Wasabi
  • Configure how many clipboard items can be stored in Wasabi at once
  • Reset all settings to their defaults and respring

If you’re fed up with Apple providing users the bare minimum in terms of UI and functionality while spending most of their time and resources focusing on useless features such as Animoji, then feel free to jailbreak your handset and download the Wasabi tweak for free from Nepeta’s personal repository. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices.

If you’re not already using Nepeta’s repository, then you can add it your package manager of choice using the following URL:
