This tweak puts a song counter at the top of each Spotify playlist

Spotify has long been one of my favorite media streaming apps – perhaps even more so than Apple’s native Apple Music platform. But one thing that has always managed to grind my gears is how the playlist interface doesn’t even so much as display the number of songs you’ve added to it.

Fortunately, a solution for this problem now exists in the form of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak subbed SpotifyPlaylistNumberOfSongs by iOS developer Aleksilassila.

The screenshot example embedded above depicts how SpotifyPlaylistNumberOfSongs looks once installed. As you can discern for yourself, the tweak adds the number of songs in a particular music playlist to the right of the combined length of time of all the songs within a particular Spotify playlist. Short, sweet, and to the point, just as we like it.

Given that this was such an exceedingly requested feature by Spotify users, it’s difficult to understand why Spotify themselves haven’t integrated this feature into their app. Fortunately, the release of this tweak effectively means that users won’t have to suffer without the feature any longer – assuming they have a jailbroken handset at their disposal, of course.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, such a simple tweak as SpotifyPlaylistNumberOfSongs doesn’t come with any options to configure, and to be honest, it doesn’t need any.

If you’re interested in trying SpotifyPlaylistNumberOfSongs, then you can download the tweak for free from the Packix repository via your preferred package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices with the Spotify app installed on them, and it is open source on the developer’s GitHub page. This tweak is not for any other app besides Spotify, and as such, won’t have any impact on other media-playing apps.
