This tweak brings iOS 14’s conversation pinning to pwned iOS 13 devices

One of my favorite new features that will ship with the upcoming iOS 14 update is the ability to pin favorite conversations to the top of the Messages app for quicker reference. But if you’re jailbroken on iOS 13, then you might feel reluctant to upgrade for this new feature alone.

Fortunately, jailbreakers won’t be left in the dust when iOS 14 launches because a newly released jailbreak tweak called PinHeads (iOS 13) by iOS developer Ahmad brings iOS 14-style conversation pinning to the Messages app on pwned iOS 13 devices.

The way the tweak works is pretty simple. As depicted in the screenshot examples above, pinned conversations appear at the top of the conversation list as profile pictures that symbolize the contact you’re talking to. Just like on iOS 14, pinning a conversation is as easy as swiping to the right on a particular conversation and then tapping on the yellow Pin button.

It’s worth noting that there’s no limit to the number of pinned conversations you can have. You can also easily unpin a conversation by accessing a hidden context menu at any time — this context menu also includes a shortcut for opening the conversation in question.

From what we can gather, the developer is working on an update for the tweak that will add the ability to call contacts from the pinned bar and permit users to pin a conversation from within the conversation rather than limiting users to pinning conversations from the conversation list. There’s no word on when such an update may be released, however.

Those interested in trying PinHeads (iOS 13) can purchase the tweak for $1.49 from the Dynastic Repo repository via their preferred package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices.

Note: Shortly after this piece was created, a new jailbreak tweak called Caim by iOS developer nicho1asdev was released in the Twickd repository to bring nearly the same functionality to jailbroken iOS 13 devices for a slightly lower price of $1.29.

Will you be taking advantage of your jailbreak to enjoy pinned Messages conversations on iOS 13 before iOS 14 launches this Fall? Let us know in the comments section below.
