How to schedule Tweets from your computer or phone

Have an idea for a tweet but want it to be posted at some later time? This tutorial shows you how to schedule tweets on Twitter from your computer, iPhone, iPad, or your Android phone.

Whether you’re a small or large business or managing your personal brand or profile, you can schedule a tweet for a certain date and time, review your scheduled tweets, and update or remove one from the schedule if needed. So, instead of holding your thoughts or working when you’re on vacation, you can just schedule your tweets for a future date.

Use Twitter’s native scheduling option

Twitter has a built-in option to schedule tweets. It works great to schedule tweets up to 18 months in the future. However, you can only use it inside a browser on a computer or your phone, not the mobile app.

1) Visit Twitter or TweetDeck on your Mac or Windows PC and make sure you’re signed in. I’m using Twitter for the steps below.

2) Click the Tweet button.

3) Type your tweet and then click the Schedule button.

4) Select the date and time for your tweet.

5) Click Confirm.

6) Back on your tweet, click Schedule.

If you’d like to review the tweets you’ve scheduled, this is easy. You can do it one of two ways.

Using the Tweet button

1) Open Twitter and click the Tweet button.

2) Click Drafts.

3) Select Scheduled.

1) Visit Twitter in a web browser.

2) Click the schedule tweet button from the top of the screen.

3) Click Scheduled Tweets.

Update a scheduled tweet

Maybe you want to change the date and time that you selected to schedule your tweet.

1) Use the steps above to see your Scheduled tweets and select the tweet you want to update.

2) Click the current scheduled date and time.

3) Make changes to the date and time and click Update.

4) Make any changes to the actual tweet as needed, and then click Schedule.

You can remove a tweet from the scheduler or tweet it now.

1) Use the steps in the above section to review your Scheduled tweets. That is, select the scheduled tweet and click its current date and time.

2) Hit Clear at the top.

3) To send your tweet right away, hit Tweet.

4) To remove the tweet, hit the X to close it and then Discard. You can also pick Save if you prefer to save it for later.

Delete all scheduled tweets

1) Use the steps above to review your Scheduled tweets.

2) Click Edit at the top.

3) Check the boxes for the tweets you want to delete or use Select All at the bottom for the entire list.

4) Click Delete.

5) Confirm the action by clicking Delete once more if you’re sure.

6) Click Done.

How to schedule a tweet from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone

Since the official Twitter mobile app doesn’t offer the option to schedule tweets, you can visit twitter.com in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or other phone browser and use the schedule button there.

Secondly, you can use third-party social media management tools like Planable to schedule tweets.

Here’s how to schedule tweets from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone:

1) Sign up for a Planable account in a web browser on your phone or computer. Finish linking your Twitter account with the service.

2) Next, get its app (iOS | Android) on your phone and log in.

3) Tap Create first post.

4) Type what you want to say and tap Next.

5) Choose Select date and time.

6) Set a date and time and tap Schedule.

Your tweet is now scheduled and will be posted on the chosen date and time.

Use third-party apps to schedule tweets
