Radeon Pro W5500X graphics card now available for the Mac Pro

Apple continues to add options for the Mac Pro, it’s most powerful desktop computer to date. This time around, it’s a new graphics card.

On Wednesday, Apple added the Radeon Pro W5500X to the list of graphics card options for the Mac Pro. This new options comes with 6GB of GDDR6 memory. For folks who go with this option, it’s a step up from the entry-level Radeon Pro 580X graphics card. You won’t have to fork over as much cash as, say, the Radeon Pro 5700X graphics card to add this to your Mac Pro build.

Adding the new Radeon Pro W5500X to your order will cost an additional $200. With this graphics card, the Mac Pro can support one 5K display, up to four 4K displays, and a single Pro Display XDR from Apple. It’s available to buy now if you’re interested.

It may not be as exciting as a leather saddlebag, but, hey, it’s another graphics card option and that may be exactly what a potential Mac Pro buyer is looking for right now.
