In the United States, the coronavirus continues to spread, in some states worse than others. And, in light of changing conditions, Apple has been forced to re-close some stores it had re-opened after initially closing them due to COVID-19 concerns.
As reported today by 9to5Mac, which has been keeping tabs on recent store (re)closures, Apple is making another change across the United States in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In light of changing conditions, and as the coronavirus continues to spread, Apple will be re-closing stores in Southern California, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Florida, Mississippi, Texas, and Utah.
Per the original report, here’s the list of stores re-closing either today, July 1, or Thursday, July 2:

This has been par for the course over the last month. On June 19, Apple re-closed 11 stores across four different states. On June 24, seven stores across Houston, Texas, were closed down again due to COVID-19 concerns. And then on June 25, Apple re-closed 14 stores in Florida — before the two closing down this week.
As of this week, a total of 77 stores that had been previously re-opened are now closed again. This means that more than 25 percent of its physical retail presence in the United States is now closed again.
Apple is going to continue to make these changes as it deems necessary in states where its physical retail stores are operating. The company says this is due to an overabundance of caution, and suggests that customers who have repairs for devices at stores about to close, they’ll need to pick them up before the stores are closed again.
As for Apple, this is the company’s statement on the re-closures:

We take this step with an abundance of caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible.
