Apple is now re-closing 14 stores in Florida

The Apple Store closures continue as the spread of the novel coronavirus and COVID-19, the disease it causes, continues in the United States.

Apple continues to have to make changes due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus pandemic. This time around it’s the physical retail stores spread across Florida, one of many states in the U.S. that is currently facing a spike in reported coronavirus cases. Susan Li on Twitter shared an updated list of the stores in the state of Florida that will be re-closing due to an overabundance of caution.

Here are the stores:

  • The Galleria
  • The Falls
  • Lincoln Road
  • Aventura
  • Brickell City Centre
  • Boca Raton
  • Dadeland
  • Wellington Green
  • Millenia
  • The Gardens Mall
  • Altamonte
  • Florida Mall
  • International Plaza
  • Brandon

All of these stores will be closing their doors again beginning Friday, June 26, 2020.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because today is the day that Apple is re-closing its retail stores in the Houston, Texas area. We reported just yesterday that the company is temporarily shuttering those stores due to the coronavirus as well. Here’s Apple’s statement on these closures:

Due to current COVID-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas. We take this step with an abundance of caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible. For help with an Apple product, more ways to shop, or additional information on our stores, please visit http://apple.com/retail.

On June 16, it was confirmed that Apple would be re-opening more than 70 stores across the United States and Canada. And then, on June 19, the company said it would be re-closing 11 stores across four states in the U.S. due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.

We will likely see additional retail stores closing again for a short period of time. However, some states are doing better than others, and, in those regions, retail stores are opening their doors again. Unfortunately, there’s no word on when these closed stores will re-open.
