iOS 14 features new ‘App Library’ for better app organization

Apple’s virtual WWDC 2020 keynote has begun, and right away the company has jumped into the future of iOS. Among the new features in the upcoming iOS 14 unveiled thus far is one called ‘App Library,’ which will automatically organize your apps in one easy view at the end of your pages.

SVP Craig Federighi didn’t offer much in terms of details regarding App Library, but it looks like it just kind of auto-sorts your apps for you, based on App Store categories. I think a lot of us already do this on our phones manually, but App Library does it for you and includes a search bar at the top.

From Apple’s iOS 14 press release:

At the end of the Home Screen pages is the App Library, a new space that automatically organizes all of a user’s apps into one simple, easy-to-navigate view, and intelligently surfaces apps that may be helpful in the moment. Users can choose how many Home Screen pages to display and easily hide pages for quicker access to the App Library.
