Telegram makes it easier to find GIFs, adds new video editing tools, and more

Telegram Messenger is one of the most popular messaging apps out there, and recently it has made some changes to the way users can edit videos, find GIFs, and more.

Telegram updated its official app this week to bring with it a variety of changes, most of which are designed to make the overall experience of using the app a lot better. For starters, the editing process is a bit more streamlined, making it easier to adjust elements like brightness and saturation. In addition to that, if a Telegram user doesn’t want to handle the editing process manually, they can simply double tap on the device’s screen to have Telegram automatically adjust the image.

Telegram has supported stickers for quite some time already, but with this update users will be able to add a sticker to any photo or video they want to. Finding GIFs is easier, and the GIF panel will load faster than it used to, while also adding a Trending section as well. Telegram says GIFs will load faster in a conversation, too.

Here’s the official changelog:

NEW MEDIA EDITOR, BETTER GIFS, AND MORE

Media Editor

• Tap the brush icon when sending a photo or video to access the media editor.

• Enhance media quality, tweak parameters like brightness or saturation.

• Add drawings, text, or stickers to media.

• Put animated stickers on photos or videos. Photos with animated stickers automatically turn into GIFs.

• Zoom in on photos or videos for high-precision drawing.

Better GIFs

• Enjoy greatly enhanced loading times for GIFs.

• Quickly find GIFs in emoji-based sections covering the most popular emotions.

• Check the Trending Tab for the top reactions of the day.

• Press and hold on any GIF in search results to save it to your collection.

And More

• Hold on a chat in your chat list to add it to a folder.

• Access all GIFs or Voice Messages in a chat from their new dedicated sections in Shared Media.

The update, which brings Telegram Messenger to version 6.2, is available now.

Telegram recently surpassed 400 million active users, so it’s certainly become one of the more popular options out there.
