The iPhone XR has become one of Apple’s most popular iPhone models to date, but if you’ve been waiting for the company to start selling refurbished models before picking one up, the wait is finally over.
Apple has officially listed the iPhone XR in its online refurbished storefront. This is the first time the handset has become available as a refurbished model in the United States, and the handset is available in various storage capacities and color options. The discount will see a price drop between $100 and $120, depending on the model.
Each of the refurbished models are unlocked, which means they are sent SIM-free and can be activated on the owner’s carrier of choice. There is even a 256GB option, albeit only in black. But Apple has effectively phased out this iPhone XR storage option, so seeing it become available now is a nice bonus.
You’ll need to fork over $629.00 for the 256GB model. That’s a savings of $120 from the regular $749.
As is par for the course, Apple thoroughly inspects all of its refurbished models. The company also includes a brand new battery, feature a new outer shell, and is coupled with a standard one-year warranty. It also includes:
- Full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning
- The original Operating System or a more recent version
- All refurbished devices are repackaged in a brand new box with all accessories and cables
