Colorful Lines lets jailbreakers colorize iOS’ cursors, scroll bars, text highlights, & more

If you’re a minimalist, then you may enjoy customizing your jailbroken iPhone, but perhaps not to the extent of installing crazy themes or adding extraneous features and interfaces. One thing you might enjoy doing, however, is making subtle adjustments to iOS’ native user interface.

Anyone who aligns themselves with the aforementioned sentiment will probably enjoy the likes of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Colorful Lines by iOS developer Yulky Tulky. Just as its name implies, this tweak doesn’t do much else other than allow custom colorization of certain line-centric interfaces in iOS.

Curious what types of line-centric interfaces Colorful Lines can colorize? Well we’re glad you asked – fresh out of the box, it’s capable of adding a fresh coat of paint to the typing cursor, the scroll bar, and selected text highlights, among other things. In the screenshot example above, you’ll notice that the cursor has been colored purple with the Colorful Lines tweak.

Once installed, Colorful Lines puts a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure it to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Colorful Lines on or off on demand
  • Enable custom scroll bar colors
  • Choose a preferred custom scroll bar color
  • Hide the scroll bar entirely
  • Enable custom cursor colors
  • Choose a preferred custom cursor color
  • Enable custom floating cursor colors
  • Choose a preferred custom floating cursor color
  • Hide the cursor entirely
  • Enable custom selection bar colors
  • Choose a preferred custom selection bar color
  • Enable custom highlight colors
  • Choose a preferred custom highlight color
  • And more…

Colorful Lines isn’t over the top, nor is it necessarily gaudy. If you appreciate adding some extra color to the native iOS interface without adding any other extraneous nonsense are likely to enjoy using this tweak, as it offers subtle customization that looks and feels like it’s supposed to be there.

If you’re interested in trying Colorful Lines for yourself, then you can download the tweak for free from Yulky Tulky’s repository via your preferred package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 12, 13, and 14 devices and is open source on the developer’s GitHub page.

It you’re not already using Yulky Tulky’s repository, then you can add it to your package manager of voice with the following URL:
