Sonos launches the Arc smart soundbar with Dolby Atmos and AirPlay 2 support

If you happen to be in the market for a new soundbar, and enjoy the Sonos brand, the company has just unveiled a new, premium option.

The Sonos Arc smart soundbar has a lot to offer, which makes sense considering it costs $799. It comes in black and white options, supports Dolby Atmos for upgraded sound quality, and it boasts AirPlay 2 support as well. Sonos is replacing the Playbar soundbar with the brand new Arc.

Sonos designed the Arc to fit comfortably with larger television sets, with its curved grille and a 45-inch design. It can be mounted if the owner wants, or it can fit nicely on a piece of furniture. It offers multi-direction audio thanks to the 11 driver inside, features a far-field microphone array for voice control support and voice assistant activation with Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. It has 8 elliptical woofers and 3 silk-dome tweeters as well.

The Arc has been tuned to emphasize the human voice, courtesy of Oscar-winning engineers, and is therefore perfect for films and TV shows. The company’s Trueplay software is designed to also tune the Arc’s acoustics to match with any room it’s in.

It’s a high-end smart soundbar, and it certainly appears to pack a punch. Will it be your next living room accessory, though? Let us know in the comments below.
