Apps of the week

In this episode of our Apps of the Week roundup we have an app that offers food storage and expiration tips, a photo editor that colorizes B&W pics using AI, and a reading app that incentivizes completing articles. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.

Here’s an app you may find useful as we find ourselves cooking at home more frequently these days. It’s called Food Tips, and it offers up all kinds of storage and expiration tips on raw foods, dry foods and produce. The aim here is to aid in smarter shopping, better cooking and less waste.

Readup

Here is an interesting app that incentivizes long-form reading. It’s called Readup and it’s a social platform that allows you to find, read and share articles. The kicker: articles are ranked by read completion rate (instead of upvotes) and no user is allowed to comment on a story they haven’t read.

Perfect Pizza

For something a little less involved, check out Perfect Pizza. It’s literally a pizza-making game where you are rated on everything from applying toppings to cutting up the perfect slice. You get tips for good pies, refunds for bad pies, and you can even unlock new pizza boxes—because of course you can.
