Apple updates the official Support app with a new interface, Dark Mode, and more

If you use the official Apple support app on your iPhone and/or iPad, then be aware that the next major update will change a few things — probably for the better.

As first outlined by 9to5Mac today, Apple has updated its official Support app for iOS and iPadOS, bringing with it a new interface, support for Dark Mode, and more. As reported, this update brings the app’s version number to 4.0, and, at the time of publication, it’s still being populated for users out in the wild. So if you don’t already see the update, stay tuned as it should arrive here shortly.

The new version of the app should make it easier to find step-by-step tutorials for troubleshooting your devices. And if you need specific information regarding your Apple-branded products, there is a new “Products” area, which will include the company’s range of services as well. The app will automatically open up to the device you’re using’s details page.

The app now supports Dark Mode, and there is a new and “improved” experience for communicating with Apple Support, whether that’s by phone call or through chat.

Here’s the official changelog, per the initial report:

  • All new customized user interface, including Dark Mode support
  • Get smarter solutions for even more topics using guided, step-by-step troubleshooting
  • It’s now easier to find support for all of your Apple services and subscriptions
  • New and improved chat and call experiences

Apple’s official Support app for iPhone and iPad is available now.
