Another piece of evidence surfaced Thursday, and it apparently reveals the official name of Apple’s upcoming low-cost iPhone model.
Apple’s online store appears to have leaked the official name of its next iPhone model, as the product listing for Belkin’s iPhone 8 screen protector got updated on Thursday to reflect compatibility with “iPhone SE.” For comparison’s sake, a cached version of the Apple Store listing noted compatibility with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 models.
It’s unclear whether this change was pushed by Apple or if Belkin itself perhaps decided to adda an “iPhone SE” mention in the hope of getting some free press coverage.

When Apple blogs started to report on this, a few hours later the Apple Store listing for the Belkin accessory reverted to its previous version, removing “iPhone SE” from the product title.
According to 9to5Mac yesterday, Apple may release the new iPhone SE later today in Red, White and Black, with storage configurations up to 256GB.

For now, only the title of Belkin’s screen protector has been updated, with purchasing options still limited to iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Item descriptions should be updated with reference to iPhone SE once the device is announced.
Be that as it may, the refreshed listing does corroborate earlier rumors calling for a low-cost iPhone with an iPhone 8-like design, the A13 Bionic chip with three gigabytes of RAM, improved cameras, Touch ID and other perks.
The original iPhone SE was popular due to its affordable price and a compact four-inch form factor. By comparison, the iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch screen.
