iOS 13.4.5 beta adds the option to share songs from Apple Music to Instagram Stories

Sharing content to Instagram Stories is a growing feature for third-party apps and services. Like Netflix, for instance. And now we can add Apple Music to the list as well.

Well, almost. The new feature is not available in Apple Music’s public version right now, but instead a new addition coming with the future release of iOS 13.4.5. Apple seeded that software to developers earlier today, and now that it’s out in the wild people are starting to discover what new elements Apple is bringing to the table for the mobile operating system.

That includes being able to share songs directly to Instagram Stories. It’s also available for Facebook Stories as well.

The ability to do this now is only possible via third-party apps, so it’s good to see Apple baking it directly into the Apple Music experience. To get it to work, simply load up a song you want to share in Apple Music and then tap on the “Share” option. Selecting Instagram will populate a preview of what’s going to be shared, including a portrait of the album cover. The blurred background is animated and you’ll see the name of the song as well.

Once the song is shared on Instagram Stories those who see it will be able to listen to the track on Apple Music.

Here’s a quick video of it in action (via 9to5Mac):

This is a nice feature addition. This will probably make the music streaming service a bit more attractive to potential customers. This is just one of many changes that Apple Music has seen recently. First, the company added a new “Get Up! Mix” playlist that is updated weekly and is available in the For You section. Next, the service will now show notifications in the Library for new music releases from artists you like. And, most recently, Apple Music welcomed seven new playlists to a new “Come Together section”.

What do you think of this new feature? Looking forward to it when iOS 13.4.5 launches to the public in the future?
