The Google Podcasts app has made its way to the App Store

Google’s official Podcasts app has launched on the App Store for the first time.

Live as of Wednesday, the software lets you find the world’s podcasts, subscribe to any podcast for free and download episodes for offline playback, just like Apple Podcasts.

Google says that the app syncs your listening progress across devices so you can pick up right where you left off. The software provides three tabs: Home, Explore and Activity.

The Home tab is home to your feed of new episodes and subscribed shows. When you select an episode you want to listen to, you’ll now see topics or people covered in that podcast, and you can easily jump to Google Search to learn more.

The Explore tab is where you’ll find episode recommendations related to your interests along with podcast directories based on genres like comedy, sports and news.

The Activity tab displays your listen history, queued up episodes and downloads. For each podcast show you’re subscribe to, you can enable automatic downloading and optional push notifications for when new episodes come out.

Here’s a quick list of the key features of Google Podcasts:

  • Subscribe and listen to all your favorite podcasts
  • Explore show and episode recommendations just for you
  • Browse popular and trending shows in comedy, news, sports and more
  • Listen at faster playback speeds or skip over silences
  • Queue up episodes for a seamless listening experience
  • Easily keep track of your listening history, downloads and subscriptions
  • Listen on multiple devices—phone, laptop, smart speaker—without losing your place
  • Auto-download shows to listen offline and on the go
  • Discover podcasts using Google Search and Google Assistant

Aside from searching podcasts from within the app, you can also ask the Google Assistant app to play a specific podcast or search for a podcast in the Google app or on google.com.

Google Podcasts is available on iOS, Android and the web.
