iPadOS 13.4 with trackpad support is launching next Tuesday, March 24

Although iPadOS 13.4 is currently in testing, Apple acknowledged today that the free software update would become available for public consumption next Tuesday, March 24.

We thought the iPadOS 13.4 would arrive today along with iOS 13.4 (which is required for the new Powerbeats earphones that launched today, too), but that’s not the case: Apple’s press release notes iPadOS 13.4 with trackpad support will launch next Tuesday, March 24.

It’ll support all the same iPad models as the initial iPadOS 13.0 release, meaning all iPad Pros along with the iPad Air 2 and later, fifth-generation iPad and later and iPad mini 4 and later.

Trackpad support will work on any iPad running iPadOS 13.4. This feature will support not only Appleā€™s own accessories such as the Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2 and the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro but also third-party mice connected over Bluetooth or USB.

As for the new trackpad-enabled Magic Keyboard, it’s coming in May priced at $299 for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $349 for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It will be offered with keyboard layouts for over 30 languages, including simplified Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
