Apple’s Cook and Cue recently attended a birthday party of Universal Music’s chief who’s now hospitalized with coronavirus

Universal Music’s chief executive Lucian Grainge has been hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus. Apple’s boss Tim Cook and Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, were in attendance at Lucian’s 60th birthday party held on February 29.

Citing multiple sources, Variety reported yesterday that the Universal Music Chairman and CEO is currently receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center.

Here’s a tidbit about Tim Cook:

Word of Grainge’s illness has rattled West Coast power players who attended his 60th birthday celebration on February 29 in Palm Springs, multiple industry insiders said. The likes of Apple CEO Tim Cook, veteran music manager Irving Azoff and Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue attended the party 15 days ago as of Sunday, said sources.

Given that first coronavirus symptoms, including fever and shortness of breath, may appear 2-14 days after exposure, we’re pretty sure that Tim and Cue have taken necessary tests and that medical teams are monitoring the Apple CEO’s situation closely.

The Cupertino tech giant last Saturday detailed its COVID-19 response that includes closing all stores outside China until March 27, holding a virtual WWDC, committing $15 million in donations and matching employee donations 2-to-1, extended leave policies while continuing to pay hourly workers and more.
