Newly discovered icons in iOS 14 code apparently indicate that Apple might be working on a brand new fitness app that will permit users to download guided workout videos.

As shown below, icons representing some of the exercises that will be available in the fitness app have been discovered in iOS 14 code. The app is apparently compatible with the iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV devices and will walk users through various workouts.

MacRumors has more:

With the fitness app, users may be able to download fitness videos that cover a range of different workout options and activities, getting guidance on completing those activities on the Apple Watch. Apple provides a gallery of different workout routines that can be downloaded and synced to the Apple Watch, with the videos themselves shown on the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.

The Apple Watch appears to be used to track your progress through each workout routine, similar to how the Apple Watch can track existing fitness activities through the Activity app. Apple appears to be providing the workouts through its fitness app for free, as there are no in-app purchases or costs associated with the content at this time.

Based on the icons, some of the activity types covered by the app include indoor running, cycling, rowing, stretching, core training, strength training, outdoor walking, dance and yoga.

MacRumors did not provided any additional specifics explaining why this would be a new app from Apple. Keep in mind that these icons could be for Apple’s existing Workout app as iOS 14 could bring enhanced activity types to it, accompanied by guided fitness videos.

Apple should preview the upcoming iOS 14, macOC 10.16, watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 updates at its Worldwide Developers Conference that should take place this summer. However, it’s looking increasingly likely that the physical gathering in San Jose could be cancelled due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in favor of virtual meetings and presentations.
