Apple releases watchOS 6.1.3 with bug fixes

Apple is currently beta testing watchOS 6.2, but before the company gets around to launching that version to the public, Apple is releasing a different version.

Apple on Tuesday officially released watchOS 6.1.3 to the public. It’s a minor update in the grand scheme of things. That means you probably won’t find any major new features in the new software version. Instead, it’s meant to fix any lingering bugs and other behind the scenes issues.

This time around, the software update is meant to address one issue in particular: the irregular heart rhythm notification for users in Iceland. Before this update, there was a software bug that prevented the Apple Watch from receiving irregular heart rhythm notifications, specifically for Apple Watch owners in Iceland. This software update should address that, and, hopefully, fix the problem.

Here’s the official changelog for watchOS 6.1.3:

This update includes improvements and bug fixes, including a fix for an issue that prevented the irregular heart rhythm notification from working as expected for Apple Watch owners in Iceland.

Some features may not be available for all countries or all areas, for more information visit: https://www.apple.com/watchos/feature-availability/

As I mentioned earlier, Apple is also beta testing watchOS 6.2. That new software update should be available soon enough. But, for now, watchOS 6.1.3 is available now to download and install for free.

In addition to watchOS 6.1.3, Apple also released watchOS 5.3.5 for the Apple Watch units out there that can’t run watchOS 6.
