Proudify adds special effects to the Lock screen’s Face ID padlock glyph

If you have a pwned Face ID-equipped iOS device in your possession and you’re looking for a new way to customize its aesthetics, then your search may land you at a new and free jailbreak tweak called Proudify by iOS developer CydiaGeek.

As depicted in the screenshot examples above, Proudify can both colorize and add special effects to the Lock screen’s Face ID padlock glyph, and it can make using Face ID that much more exciting day in and day out.

Right off the bat, we should note that Proudify does a lot more than just add color to the Lock screen’s Face ID padlock glyph. It can also tweak the glyph’s behavior based on user actions, such as failing the Face ID authentication scan.

While the two left-most screenshots depict a colorized and unlocked Face ID padlock glyph, you’ll notice that the right-most screenshot depicts a locked and upside-down glyph. This happened because Face ID failed to recognize the user.

Proudify adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak’s effects to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Enable or disable Lock screen Face ID glyph tinting
  • Select a Lock screen Face ID glyph tint color
  • Make the Face ID glyph fade away if authentication fails
  • Turn the Face ID glyph upside down if authentication fails
  • Prevent the Face ID glyph from moving if authentication fails
  • Hide the Face ID glyph entirely
  • Hide the Face ID glyph when viewing the passcode input interface

The developer includes a convenient way to Respring your device and save any changes you make to the settings at the bottom of the Proudify preference pane.

We get that not everyone is into the whole colorization of all things, but Proudify’s effects alone make up for this.

If you’re looking for something ‘different’ on your pwned iPhone’s Lock screen, then Proudify is a great place to start. The tweak is available for free from the BigBoss repository in your preferred package manager and supports all Face ID-equipped jailbroken handsets running iOS 12 and 13.
