Kalm is a more informative Lock screen for pwned iPhones

The iOS Lock screen has received a plethora of subtle design changes over the years, but they haven’t been quite as audacious as some users would like to see, and personally, I’d like to see more of my most pertinent information directly on my Lock screen every morning without having to swipe anywhere.

If you’re onboard with this train of thought, then I think you’ll enjoy a newly released jailbreak tweak called Kalm by iOS developer ubik. Kalm brings a beautiful new information-oriented display to your iOS device’s Lock screen, permitting you to see more of what’s going on at a glance with substantially less interaction on your part.

As shown in the screenshot examples above, Kalm incorporates useful information types into the iOS Lock screen, including current Weather conditions and Up Next Calendar events – all in addition to a gorgeous new date and time display that can be customized to your liking.

Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can configure the Kalm interface to their liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Kalm’s Weather display on or off on demand
  • Toggle Kalm’s Up Next Calendar display on or off on demand
  • Customize Weather display settings
  • Customize Up Next display settings
  • Customize date and time appearance

Diving deeper, we’ll be outlining what you can do in each section below:

Weather

Here, you can:

  • Hide or show the current location on your Lock screen
  • Hide or show the weather condition on your Lock screen

Up Next

Here, you can:

  • Enter a custom Calendar name
  • Display all day events
  • Choose the number of days ahead that Kalm will display on the Lock screen:
    • 1, 3, 7, 14, or 1 month

Appearance

Here, you can:

  • Left, Center, or Right-align the Kalm interface
  • Enable or disable Kalm accent coloring based on wallpaper
    • Base color on primary, secondary, or tertiary wallpaper color
  • Enable and configure color saturation
  • Enable and configure color brightness

The developer includes an Apply button in the primary preference pane, and we’d recommend using it after making changes to the Kalm preferences to ensure that they take effect.

If you’re tired of the same old Lock screen experience on your jailbroken iPhone, then you can purchase Kalm for $1.99 from the Chariz repository in your preferred package manager. Kalm supports pwned iOS 12 and 13 devices.
