Animated musical comedy “Central Park” to debut on Apple TV+ in early summer 2020

Apple said during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour yesterday that “Central Park,” its new animated musical comedy, is set to debut on the Apple TV streaming platform “in early summer 2020” without giving a firm release date.

According to Apple, the animated show revolves around a family of caretakers who live and work in Central Park. As the plot unfolds, they end up saving the park and basically the world.

Here’s Apple’s blurb for the show:

‘Central Park’ is an animated musical comedy about the Tillermans, a family that lives in Central Park. Owen, the park manager, and Paige, his journalist wife, raise their kids Molly and Cole in the world’s most famous park, while fending off hotel heiress Bitsy Brandenham and her long suffering assistant Helen, who would love nothing more than to turn the park into condos.

It’s written and executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Loren Bouchard (“Bob’s Burgers”) alongside Josh Gad (“Frozen”) and Nora Smith (“Bob’s Burgers”). Voice cast includes Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs and Stanley Tucci.

The series hails from 20th Century Fox Television and features thirteen half-hour episodes.
