Apple previously said that “Dear…” would be executive produced by Emmy Award and Peabody Award winner R.J. Cutler (“The September Issue”). The company vaguely said the docuseries would premiere “this spring” on Apple TV+, but now we have a specific launch date.

Here’s how the official press release describes “Dear…”:

Inspired by Apple’s groundbreaking ‘Dear Apple’ spots, ‘Dear…’ takes an inventive and cinematic approach to biographies of the most iconic figures in society today by using letters written by those whose lives have been changed through their work.

“Dear Apple” is an Apple-produced series of spots featuring letters to Apple CEO Tim Cook from fans who go on to describe how products like Apple Watch changed their lives.

Here’s one such spot from two years ago promoting Apple Watch Series 3.

“Every day, people reach out to Apple to say how Apple Watch is helping them live healthier lives,” reads the video’s description. “So we decided to reach out to some of them.”

As this show is months away, the blurb and poster artwork were unavailable at post time.

Matador Content produces “Dear…” for the iPhone maker. The documentary is being executive produced by Cutler alongside Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, Jane Cha and Lyle Gamm.
