Apple confirms an upcoming software update will fix iPhone XR issues on UK’s O2 network

Apple has confirmed that an upcoming iOS software release will resolve diabolical issues with constant loss of cellular signal that an unknown number of iPhone XR owners who are subscribed to O2’s service in the United Kingdom have been complaining about.

BBC News has an official statement attributed to an Apple spokesperson:

We are aware of an issue causing intermittent network connectivity effecting some O2 customers, and we will have a fix in an upcoming software release.

The BBC said yesterday that many iPhone XR owners in the United Kingdom who subscribe to the O2 network are running into intermittent connection issues.

“We’re working closely with our partners to resolve an intermittent issue affecting some of our customers using iPhone XR,” an O2 spokeswoman told the BBC. The reports also cropped up on social media like Twitter and were shared on sites like Down Detector as well.

“We are aware of an issue causing intermittent network connectivity effecting some O2 customers and we will have a fix in an upcoming software release,” O2 said. According to the carrier, turning the affected phone off and on again will temporarily fix the problem.

If you’re in the UK and an O2 customer with an iPhone XR, have you experienced any issues? If so, has either Apple or O2 offered any remedy for the problem?
