These typing apps are more for adults because they focus on the lessons rather than colors and themes. But if you have older kids, you can both practice your skills.

Type to Learn

Type to Learn free Mac typing app

This app’s approach is simple – you paste any paragraph > then start typing > the app will highlight if you type correctly or not.

Once you get Type to Learn, open it and paste any text you want. For example, you can copy this iDB article and put it there. Or, better, you can copy text from a useful document or something informative and paste it there. If you don’t want to enter any paragraph, click the dice icon, and the app will take care of it.

Next, start typing what you see. As you type, the words you enter correctly will be highlighted in blue and the incorrect ones in red (which you can go back and fix).

The app also shows your accuracy percentage and the words per minute readings on the top.
