If you’re in search of a subtle way to augment iOS’ native notification system, then you might want to turn your attention to that of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called Blots by iOS developer Antique.
As you accumulate missed notifications, Blots displays colored dots at the top of your display, just underneath the Status Bar. These dots are specifically colorized to match the dominant color of the app icon for which the notification represents.
Blots is designed to be a persistent notification indicator, and so the dots appear everywhere in iOS until they’re acknowledged by the user. You can tap on any of the dots to launch the corresponding app, and this takes you to any missed notifications you might have.
After you install Blots, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:
Here, you can:
- Enable or disable dot placement adjustment
- Configure dot placement offset
- Enable or disable Blots
The developer includes a respring button at the bottom of the preference pane so that you can save any changes you make.
Blots isn’t available on any of the default repositories, and so if you’re interested in using it, then you’ll need to add the following repository URL to your preferred package manager:

Blots supports all jailbroken iOS 13 devices, and according to the developer’s comments in this r/jailbreak post, iOS 12 support should be coming soon.
