Walmart has announced a new partnership with Apple that will see ordering things from the retailer a lot easier, if you like using Siri that is.

Walmart now supports voice orders through Apple’s digital assistant, Siri. You’ll need to make sure that you have the official Walmart Grocery app on your device, and you’re signed into it. After that’s done you’ll be able to ask Siri to add something you’re wanting to buy to your online cart. This is all handled through a new Shortcut, and you’ll need to start the process by saying, “Add to Walmart” and then throwing in whatever item you want.

Today, we’re proud to announce that partnering with Apple, we’ve made Walmart Voice Order available on Siri. We are always looking for new ways to bring our customers the best experiences when buying Apple products from Walmart and when using their Apple devices every day.

We are introducing a new Siri Shortcut for Online Grocery. Customers simply ask Siri to start adding items directly to their Walmart Online Grocery cart after they’ve paired their accounts. It feels a little like magic on an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, HomePod or in the car with CarPlay.

You’ll need to finalize the order with the app (can’t do that with Siri yet). Once that’s done you’ll be able to choose to pick it up in a store, or to have it delivered to your door.

Perhaps one of the best parts of this is that the service is designed to get better the more you use it. So if you happen to buy a specific brand of something you order on the regular, the app will figure out what that brand is and add it accordingly. Walmart’s example is if you order orange juice through Siri, the app will automatically add the brand you like after you’ve added it a few times.

This means, eventually, you won’t have to throw in a specific brand when you request an item from Siri, which should make the shopping experience a bit easier and faster.

You’ll need to download the Walmart Grocery App (which is free) from the iOS App Store, and then set up Voice Orders within the app to get all of this up and running.
