Microsoft makes over Mac Outlook

Microsoft is rolling out some improvements to its Outlook mail/information management application for the Mac. Outlook for Mac beta testers will soon see an overhauled design and significant performance improvements in the next iteration, according to The Verge.

The same sync technology used on the mobile Outlook is coming to this new version, and the new mail tools get single line views, a new compose UI and features including the ability to selectively ignore emails.

Other tweaks include the replacement of the ribbon with a customizable toolbar, the addition of a new “My Day” view and integration of Microsoft Search and new customizable filters into search results.

The update will be coming to those Outlook for Mac users who participate in Microsoft’s “fast ring” updates, according to the report.
