Verizon to offer 12 months of Disney+ to new and existing unlimited customers

Disney+ is set to launch on November 12, and now Verizon customers have something to look forward to if they’ve been planning to subscribe to the streaming service.

Disney has priced its streaming service pretty low for a monthly fee ($7 per month!), but considering how many streaming services there are out there, saving any amount of money is good news. Which is probably why Verizon is happy to announce it’s the exclusive carrier partner with Disney, and, as a result, the wireless carrier will be offering 12 months of free Disney+ for new and existing customers beginning November 12.

Giving Verizon customers an unprecedented offer and access to Disney+ on the platform of their choice is yet another example of our commitment to provide the best premium content available through key partnerships on behalf of our customers,” said Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg. “Our work with Disney extends beyond Disney+ as we bring the power of 5G Ultra Wideband technology to the entertainment industry through exciting initiatives with Disney Innovation Studios and in the parks,” he added

The fine print is not that awful, either. Verizon says that all 4G LTE and 5G unlimited wireless customers will have access to the 12 months of Disney+ once November 12 rolls around. In addition to that, the company is offering “New Verizon Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers can also enjoy 12 months of Disney+ on us”.

And finally, there are no limitations to Disney+ through Verizon. Customers will still be able to get all of the perks, including 4K and HDR streams, no commercials, downloads for offline viewing, and concurrent viewing on up to four devices. The service will also offer personalized recommendations and support for up to seven different individual profiles.

This is just for Disney+, though. If you want the bundle that was announced earlier this year, which supports Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, you’ll have to subscribe to that separately (which will cost $13 per month).

In related news, Disney just announced its launch lineup earlier this month. It took them over 600 tweets and includes a three hour sizzle reel for all the movies and TV shows.

Verizon says if you’re interested in hearing more about the deal, you can fork over your email address to sign up for updates.

It’s also worth noting that this deal from Verizon actually matches what Apple is offering with Apple TV+, with a primary difference. Apple is offering a year’s worth of Apple TV+ for folks who buy a new (or refurbished) Apple-branded device that can stream Apple TV+.

If you’re a Verizon customer, do you plan on taking advantage of this promotion?
